Wow! What a neat week we have enjoyed with Becca going to Georgia to meet more of her new extended family! We began the week with going to see Mama Lou, Grandaddy Bill, and Uncle Bob, her great-grandparents on my dad’s side. It was really special to me for her to meet them. Mama Lou was the lady instrumental in praying for our family(Mom, Dad, and I) to get saved. Grandaddy is the oldest father in the family, the “patriarch.” Becca loved meeting both of them. What was really awesome to me was to see how my Grandaddy responded when he met Becca. To have the oldest meet the youngest was a neat moment I will never forget! All the time we were there, when he would walk in to the room and see her, he would brighten up, and say something like: “She sure is a pretty little girl, isn’t she!” One time he told Mama Lou: “Brandon and Sarah got the prettiest girl in China!” Grandaddy Bill is a man of few words and to have him say these things about my little girl meant so much to me!
Another moment that will forever be engraved in my heart happened as we were just about to pull out of their driveway. Grandaddy hurried out and stuck his head in the back window of the car, and said, “I want to see the baby one more time.” That touched me more than I can post in words! Suffice it to say, I will never ever forget it!
